CASA ADHESIVE, INC.
CASA 575 Adhesive
Application Procedures
>
Ambient conditions should be 60 degrees F or above for adhesive to perform per data sheet information.
>
Materials to be bonded should be clean, dry and dust free. Any petroleum based products such as oil or grease can prevent suitable bonding.
>
Adhesive can be applied to both surfaces with a spray gun. However, in many instances, single sided application is acceptable. Spray guns should be adjusted to give a paint-like spray pattern. Hold the spray gun 8-12 inches from the surface and be sure to overlap the pattern slightly with each pass to ensure uniform coverage.
>
If one substrate is non-porous, spray it first because drying time can takes longer on non-porous surfaces. The two surfaces should be bonded immediately when dry.
>
CASA 575 bonds quickly after spraying depending on atmospheric conditions. Users can reposition the substrates, to maximize the quality of their products. Pressure may be applied via manual or mechanical to enhance the initial bond. The user can place substrates together up to 20 minutes after spraying if required by their production process. After 20 minutes the adhesive may dry and the final adhesion can suffer.
>
The final bond is achieved once the residual water has evaporated. Although water evaporation happens quickly, it is recommended users wait 24 hours before performing any final bond testing.
>
New associates assigned to adhesive laminating positions should be trained in all required procedures.
>
Casa’s water-based adhesives must be used in conjunction with stainless steel or plastic parts where the adhesive comes in contact with hose fittings, spray guns, diaphragm pumps or pressure pots.
Casa’s 575 water-based, non-toxic adhesives eliminate associate health issues, flash fire issues and eliminate environmental VOC emissions.
